Frequently asked questions

Practical answers about choosing a model, charging, Bluetooth, product care, documents and purchase support. Model-specific figures below apply only to the named version.

Choosing a battery

How do I choose between the 100Ah formats?

Measure length, width and total available height, allowing room for terminals, cables and securing the battery. Compare SuperMini, Underfloor and Group 31 specifications. A format name alone does not establish vehicle fit or permission to mount the battery on its side. Compare the range.

Does Bluetooth mean the battery has self-heating?

No. Bluetooth monitoring and self-heating are separate features. The Standard Bluetooth and Heated Bluetooth 200Ah models are separate products. Check the selected listing and its heating instructions.

What is included in a pack or kit?

Check the exact selected product and variant for quantities and included components. A two- or three-battery pack is not automatically a battery-and-charger bundle. Accessories displayed nearby are separate purchases unless expressly included in the listing.

Is the 6Ah module suitable for an RV, inverter or motor?

No. The 6Ah model is designed for low-current standby applications such as alarms, access control, IoT and communications backup. It is not for UPS systems, inverters, motor/starter loads or RV electrical systems. Maximum continuous charging and discharging current: 6A; recommended continuous load up to 75W. Browse compact battery information.

Are capacity and current the same thing?

No. Amp-hours (Ah) describe charge capacity; amps (A) describe current flowing at a moment in time. A larger Ah number does not by itself approve a high-current appliance. Compare daily energy use separately from simultaneous running current and startup demand.

For a 12.8V, 100Ah battery, nominal stored energy is 1,280Wh. Actual usable energy and runtime depend on the load, operating conditions and system losses.

How can I estimate my daily energy use?

For each appliance, multiply its power in watts by its actual operating hours: W × hours = Wh. Add the results. For example, 40W of lighting for 5 hours uses 200Wh. Use measured or realistic cycling time for a fridge, rather than assuming its compressor runs continuously.

This is a planning calculation, not a runtime guarantee or a battery recommendation. Include conversion losses, peak demand and the time between recharges in your request. Build your selection request.

Can I fit the DIN battery on its side or use it for engine starting?

The 100Ah DIN / H190 instructions specify upright installation with the terminal posts facing up. Do not install it upside down; ask Sentorise support before choosing a side-mount position. This model is not a starter battery. A DIN-shaped case alone does not establish compatibility with a vehicle or its electrical system.

Charging and system setup

Can I use the same charger for every 12V battery?

Do not choose by nominal voltage alone. The charger must match the battery chemistry, charging voltage, permitted current and connectors. Small-capacity batteries may require a different charging current. Read the charger matching guide.

Can I connect several batteries together?

Use only the series or parallel arrangements approved in the documentation for the exact model. Check matching, voltage, current limits, charging, protection and wiring before connecting. A pack quantity is not by itself installation approval.

How do I connect a Bluetooth-enabled battery?

Use the Bluetooth connection guide and App download page. Have the battery serial number ready. Models without Bluetooth cannot be made Bluetooth-enabled by installing the app.

Can I charge the 6Ah battery with the Sentorise 20A charger?

No. The 6Ah model has a maximum continuous charging current of 6A. The 14.6V 20A charger exceeds that limit. Select charging equipment that meets both the exact battery’s LiFePO4 charging requirements and its permitted current; matching “12V” labels is not enough.

What are the maximum continuous charge currents for the current battery range?

The checked manuals list: 6Ah — 6A; 50Ah — 25A; 100Ah SuperMini, DIN and Group 31 — 50A; 200Ah Standard and Heated — 100A.

These are model limits, not default charger settings. Also match charging voltage/profile, connectors and battery-bank configuration. Compare charging requirements.

What happens when a 200Ah battery is too cold to charge?

The checked 200Ah Standard and Heated instructions list low-temperature charge protection: charging stops below 0°C battery temperature and resumes above 5°C. These thresholds refer to the battery temperature, not the weather forecast.

Automatic self-heating belongs to the Heated version. Low-temperature protection on the Standard version does not mean it can actively warm itself. Heating behaviour must meet the exact version’s instructions.

Bluetooth connection and device readings

Should I connect in the app or in my phone’s Bluetooth settings?

Connect inside the Sentorise app. If you already paired the battery in your phone’s Bluetooth settings, choose Forget or Unpair there, then return to the app and connect using Search via Bluetooth.

How do I know which battery to select?

Match the Device ID in the app with the code below the barcode on your battery label. Check every character before selecting a device. If the label is not visible, check the packaging or contact support.

Why does the app show a different capacity before it connects?

The setup guide identifies the capacity shown before connection as a temporary placeholder. Wait for the connection-success message, then open the device view to check the confirmed battery model and capacity. If it still looks incorrect, contact support with a screenshot.

What does the app mean by “SN code”?

In the connection prompt, “SN code” means the Device ID printed under the barcode on your battery label. Enter it exactly as printed, or use the scan option. If scanning does not work, type the ID manually.

How can I avoid mixing up several nearby batteries?

Check the label against the app’s Device ID and connect to one battery at a time. After connecting, give each device a recognisable name in the app to make future connections easier.

Why can’t I find the original device name?

If the battery was renamed in the app, it may appear under its new name. If you are unsure which device is yours, send a screenshot of the scan page to Sentorise support through the support channel.

Storage and battery monitoring

How should I prepare the 100Ah DIN battery for long-term storage?

For the DIN / H190 model, the instructions recommend about 50% charge in a 10–35°C environment and recharging every three months. Plan a reminder before storing a seasonal setup. These are that model’s long-term storage recommendations, not a charging-temperature range or a rule for every battery.

Why does a new battery monitor need capacity setup?

The 500A monitor’s capacity percentage and remaining-time estimate depend on its setup. During first use, check the current reading, enter the battery’s effective capacity and complete the manual’s full-charge setup procedure. A default capacity value may not describe your battery.

Remaining time is an estimate that changes with the load; it is not a promised runtime.

Why might the monitor miss some charging or appliance use?

Complete measurement requires charge and discharge current to pass through the shunt in the negative circuit. B− is the battery side; P− is the charger/load side. A return path that bypasses the shunt can be missed.

The display is not the component that carries the main battery current. Follow the full model wiring diagram, including the separate supply/sense connections, when reviewing the installation. Send your model and wiring details to support.

Manuals and test documents

Where can I download a product manual?

Open Product documents & test records and choose the correct model and heating version. If your revision is not listed, contact support with the model and serial number.

What does the UN38.3 public test overview cover?

Each Sentorise public overview presents selected sample details, report numbers and recorded results from the laboratory test summary. It covers the documented sample and does not replace the operating manual or establish compatibility with a vehicle, charger or installation. Match the exact model; the 200Ah source summary does not identify the heating version.

This public overview is not the original signed UN38.3 summary. Contact support to request the full original summary. Include your model, serial number and report number. Open product documents & test records.

Do the same certificates cover every Sentorise product?

Each document has its own model and activity scope. Check the listed battery series and variants in the original document. A company scope certificate is different from product or shipment evidence. Read conformity documents.

Orders, registration and after-sales help

What are the delivery options and charges?

Delivery options and applicable charges are shown at checkout for the destination and selected items. See the shipping policy and track an existing shipment.

Where can I check warranty coverage or register a product?

Read the Warranty Policy for the scope and conditions that apply, and use product registration to submit purchase details. Keep your proof of purchase. Registration submission is not a warranty-claim decision.

How do I request a return or report a problem?

Read the return and refund policy and contact support with your order number, model and issue. Email any requested images separately. Follow the correct battery-return instructions rather than shipping the product without guidance.

Does a registration submission reference confirm warranty coverage?

No. The on-screen reference identifies your submission; it is not a warranty approval or an automated registration certificate. Save it with your proof of purchase. Contact support for confirmation of the recorded product and applicable coverage dates. Open product registration.

What should I include when contacting support about an existing product?

Include your order number, full model and version, serial number, a clear description of the symptom and when it happens. For a charging issue, include the charger/controller make and model and any displayed message. For an app issue, include the phone model and a screenshot of the relevant app screen.

The contact form does not upload attachments. Email requested photos or proof of purchase to [email protected], with the same email address and your submission reference so the information can be matched.
